Educode Forms due in
Educode, a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) based robotics and computer coding course, will be commencing in Week 2 of Term 3 for students from Pre-Primary to Year 6. The program will run over the course of the semester (19 weeks) as part of in school STEM lessons.
The Educode program focuses on developing 21st century skills designed especially to cater for the needs of the students at Mount Lawley Primary School and is aligned to the Western Australian Curriculum. The students will be developing their computational thinking skills using robotics and specialised software. Teachers work ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’ with the director of Educode to learn the skills along with the children that can be then implemented further during the week.
This program is an optional extra and parents have the right to opt in for their child or children. If you choose not to opt in, your child will still be provided with the required digital technologies curriculum but they will not participate in the Educode program.
The costs are as follows:
Pre-primary & Year 1 (45 minute class/week for 19 weeks) $4.50 / student ($85.50)
Year 2 & 3 (60 minute class/week for 19 weeks) $5 / student ($95)
Year 4, 5 & 6 (90 minute class/week for 19 weeks) $6 / student ($114)
Educode is an exciting opportunity and we anticipate it will be a program highly beneficial to our students in developing their knowledge and understanding of the Digital Technologies curriculum.
