Applications for Kindy 2026 open Monday 5 May 2025 and close on Friday 25 July 2025.
In Western Australia, children who turn 4 years old by 30 June 2026 are eligible to begin their education in Kindergarten 2026. However, compulsory schooling begins the following year in Pre-primary.
Mount Lawley Primary School runs Kindergarten Programs at our Early Learning Centre located at 65 Woodsome Street, Mount Lawley. In accordance with the Department of Education WA Policy, Kindergarten students attend school for 15 hours per week (or pro rata). Days and times students attend can differ from year to year.
Kindergarten is a non-compulsory school year and therefore enrolment is not guaranteed regardless of the student’s address, however, children who primarily reside within our intake area are given priority when Kindergarten applications are reviewed.
Out of Area applications will be considered and accommodated where possible at the Principal's discretion.
Enrolment in our Kindergarten does not automatically entitle children to enrolment in the primary school. All families are required to re-apply to enrol for pre-primary.

You will be advised in writing the outcome of your application within three weeks of the advertised closing date for applications.
Incomplete applications are not able to be accepted. Please ensure all supporting documentation along with your enrolment application as a hard copy is submitted to the Mount Lawley Primary School front office to be considered.

Additional Needs / Medical Diagnosis
Parents/carers of students with additional needs are asked to contact the school, at the time of enrolment, to discuss their child’s requirements. This will ensure that the most appropriate program is put in place to meet the needs of their child.
Access Restrictions

The school must sight the original documents and all details are treated in the strictest confidence. Any changes to orders must be provided to the school as soon as possible.
