Mount Lawley Primary School is an Independent public school and welcomes students from Kindergarten to Year 6. As a local intake school, children who reside within our intake area are guaranteed enrolment. Out of Area applications will be considered in line with the Department of Education Enrolment Policy.

In Western Australia, children are eligible to begin their education in Kindergarten. However, compulsory schooling starts the following year in Pre-primary.

Parents are encouraged to submit an application by the closing date, regardless of if the child is of compulsory school age and is guaranteed a place in the school.

Enrolment Procedure
To begin the enrolment procedure, you will be required to complete and submit the application form along with the required supporting documents as a hard copy to the Front Office between 8.00am-3:00pm Monday to Friday (during school terms).
Please ensure all correct supporting documents and information is provided at the time application as incomplete applications are unable to be accepted.
Pre-primary - Year 6 Applicaiton Form
Families will be advised of the outcome of their application in writing within 3 weeks (during term) of the closing date. If your application has been successful, Part B - Formal Enrolment forms will be available to collect from the Front Office.
For mid-year enrolments, please allow up to 1 week during term for your child's enrolment to be processed.
Enrolment Requirements
When enrolling your child, you will be asked to provide:
Student's Birth Certificate or Passport
If your child is an Australian citizen but both parents were born overseas, then proof of one of the parent’s permanent residency/citizenship or the student's Australian Passport is also required at the time of application.
Australian Immunisation History (AIR) Statement
It is a requirement of the department that schools must receive a recent (dated within 2 months) copy of each student’s Australian Immunisation Record (AIR) Statement at the time of enrolment.
A child’s immunisation is expected to be up-to-date upon entry to school. These include Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Polio, Whooping Cough, Diphtheria and Tetanus.

Proof of Address Documents
A Lease Agreement of at least six months into the enrolment year or proof of ownership of a property such as Land / Water Rates Notice or in circumstances where there is no rental agreement, a Statutory Declaration and Driver’s License of the parent is required.
A recent gas or electrical account
Additional Needs / Medical Diagnosis
Parents/carers of students with additional needs are asked to contact the school, at the time of enrolment, to discuss their child’s requirements. This will ensure that the most appropriate program is put in place to meet the needs of their child.
Access Restrictions
Parents/carers are reminded that the School Education Act 1999 obliges parents/carers to inform schools of any Family Court Orders or other orders which are applicable to their children. The school must sight the original documents and all details are treated in the strictest confidence. Any changes to orders must be provided to the school as soon as possible.
Overseas Students
Eligibility to enrol at Mount Lawley Primary School is dependent on the type of visa the student holds. Please contact the school for more information.
Students who hold a 500 Visa will be required to also submit a Public School Placement Form that is available from a Tertiary Institution.

Mount Lawley Primary School offers tours of the main Primary School campus during terms 2, 3 & 4 from 10am - 11am.
