Mount Lawley Primary School is in the process of moving from Connect to utilising Compass, an online information management system which is being rolled out as part of the Education Department's Program Kaartidjin.
Parents will use the Compass parent portal to report student absences and receive school communications about upcoming school events. Compass will ensure communication between families and carers is efficient and easy. All communication from the school will come home via Connect and Compass with the intention to phase out the use of Connect in Term 3.
Accessing Compass:
All contacts listed as Parent/Guardian 1 and 2 at our school will be emailed a username and one time passcode to access the Compass platform.
Compass is accessible via the Web or download the Compass mobile app via the App Store and Google Play.
If you have not received an invitation to login into Compass, or need assistance with your account, please email mountlawley.ps@education.wa.edu.au
From this first login, parents are now encouraged to use the Compass parent portal to report student absences.
Please note that although Compass will be used in a greater capacity in the future, only attendance and communication features are currently active for families.
Using Compass in the future:
Compass is a school management solution that allows parents and carers to access up-to-date and meaningful information about your school and your child’s progress. Compass includes many different features, including the ability to:
- View up-to-date class and school attendance information
- Enter upcoming or past absences for your child
- Update your registered email and mobile number (used for SMS alerts)
- Access information regarding upcoming events and news
- Communicate with your child’s teachers
- Access your child’s academic progress and school reports.
The Department of Education’s Compass set up video is a good resource to learn how to access and navigate the Compass parent portal from a desktop or mobile device.
